Hot-dip galvanizing (Perm region)
The method of galvanizing iron was patented back in the 19th century by a chemist from France. In the original version, iron was thoroughly cleaned with a solution of sulfuric acid, and then ammonium chloride was applied. To date, this method of coating has become a high-tech process of creating durable structures.
Features of hot-dip galvanizing process
Processing of iron or steel is a complex and time - consuming work aimed at additional strengthening of industrial elements. To protect against the negative effects of the environment and corrosion of metals, the product is dipped in a special bath with zinc in a liquid state. The operating temperature of the transition metal is 460 degrees Celsius. In special tanks (baths), oxygen reacts with zinc to form zinc oxide. This is followed by a reaction with carbon dioxide and the creation of zinc carbonate. The latter is a solid material of gray matte color, which is responsible for further preventing the destruction of products.
Hot dip galvanizing in the Perm region is the most reliable and less expensive in terms of industrial work, when compared with similar processing methods. In addition, it is the most common coating. The thickness of the finished coating varies from 30 to 100 microns, and the standard-from 45 to 65 microns.
Zinc treatment is also applied to small parts: nuts, bolts, fasteners, washers. Before direct treatment, such elements are well cleaned and degreased. Small elements are placed in a special rotating drum, which provides a uniform coating of parts.
