Hot-dip galvanizing in contact with food
Increasingly, galvanized products are used in the production and transportation of food products. Products are stored on racks or refrigerated racks with galvanized coating. The only exceptions are those products that are characterized by high acid content, for example, tomatoes, oranges, lemons. The acid contained in these vegetables and fruits, interacts with the coating and starts the corrosion process, accelerating its action.
Galvanization for steel products acts as a protection against the action of food and prevents corrosion, as well as protects against the effects of aggressive environment. This protective function has been maintained for many years and is maintenance-free. Products with galvanized coating are used in food production and farms: storage racks, countertops, shelves in refrigerators and hooks for meat, milk kiosks and cans.
